Understanding Pip Value
A pip (percentage in point) is the smallest price movement in a currency pair. For most pairs, 1 pip = 0.0001.
Knowing your pip value helps you understand risk and potential profit:
- EURUSD with 1 lot: 1 pip = $10
- USDJPY with 1 lot: 1 pip = ~$9.26 (because JPY pips are 0.01, not 0.0001)
- BTC/USD: 1 pip = $1 per unit (depends on current price)

Loss = 50 pips × $10 = $500
